Archaeological object rehousing at the Maine State Museum
These objects are part of a collection of artifacts recovered from a shipwreck. They are housed at the Maine State Museum in Augusta, ME. I was tasked with rehousing a selection of objects from their storage during an internship there in the summer of 2022.

Custom built housings
This grapeshot and wooden spindle were both rehoused using archival blue board, ethafoam, and Teflon tape. The wooden spindle (below) rests on a Tyvek pillow stuffed with polyethylene batting.
Both housings were designed to reduce handling of the objects while still allowing thorough examination by researchers.
Small sketches were hand drawn on the lids of the boxes for quick visual reference as to their contents.
